David Rittich - Starting Wednesday's matchup Rittich will serve as the starting goalie for Wednesday's road matchup against Toronto, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.

Impact Rittich will make his first start of the regular season Wednesday since Darcy Kuemper (lower body) is considered day-to-day. Rittich made 24 appearances in the NHL last year and logged a 13-6-3 record, 2.15 GAA and .921 save percentage. Pheonix Copley will serve as the backup goaltender Wednesday and could draw the start in Thursday's road game against Montreal if Rittich doesn't start in both ends of the back-to-back.

Joel Edmundson - On non-roster injured reserve Edmundson (personal) was moved to non-roster injured reserve by LA on Wednesday.

Impact Edmundson last played Monday, so the earliest he can return to the lineup would be Tuesday against Vegas. He has an assist, three hits and eight blocks in three games this season. With Edmundson unavailable, Andreas Englund might see some action after being a healthy scratch in each of the Kings' first three contests.

Darcy Kuemper - Ruled out Wednesday Kuemper is dealing with a lower-body injury that will sideline him against Toronto on Wednesday, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period reports.

Impact While coach Jim Hiller described Kuemper as day-to-day, he probably should be considered doubtful to start against Montreal on Thursday in the second of a back-to-back. With David Rittich taking the first game versus the Leafs, that would potentially open the door for Pheonix Copley to get the nod Thursday. After a decent first two games to open the 2024-25 campaign, the 34-year-old Kuemper was absolutely rocked by Ottawa on Monday, giving up eight goals on 41 shots (.805 save percentage) -- though he still earned his team a point with the overtime defeat.

Pheonix Copley - Recalled by Los Angeles Copley was recalled on an emergency basis from AHL Ontario on Wednesday.

Impact Copley was sent to the minors ahead of the regular season, but he'll rejoin the NHL club since Darcy Kuemper (lower body) is considered day-to-day. David Rittich will start in the road net against the Maple Leafs on Wednesday, but it's possible that Copley starts Wednesday's road matchup against Montreal.

Impact Anderson has continued to see big minutes without Drew Doughty (ankle) in the lineup. Anderson is averaging 20:44 per game through three contests while posting an assist, four shots on net, six hits, five blocked shots and four PIM. The 25-year-old fills a shutdown role in the top four, and with just one 20-point campaign across his four full NHL seasons, he has minimal scoring upside despite his significant ice time.

Trevor Lewis - Puts away goal Monday Lewis scored a goal and added two hits in Monday's 8-7 overtime loss to the Senators.

Impact Lewis looks to be a fixture on the fourth line to begin 2024-25, though he may eventually sit in favor of Akil Thomas. The 37-year-old Lewis has a goal, two shots on net, five hits and three blocked shots over three contests, averaging just 8:49 of ice time. He put up 16 points and 90 hits in 82 regular-season outings last year -- between his role and his age, there's little chance he produces enough to be a fantasy factor this season.

Tanner Jeannot - Nets goal in high-scoring loss Jeannot scored a goal, doled out three hits and added seven PIM in Monday's 8-7 overtime loss to the Senators.

Impact Jeannot's third-period tally tied the game at 7-7, and that helped the Kings' eke out a standings point in a wild matinee game. The winger, who was traded from the Lightning to the Kings in a draft-day trade in June, has settled into a middle-six role with no power-play time with his new team. His goal was his first point in three games to go with nine hits and seven PIM, and his biggest contributions are likely to remain in the physical categories.

Alex Laferriere - Strikes twice in overtime loss Laferriere scored two goals on five shots, added four hits and blocked two shots in Monday's 8-7 overtime loss to the Senators.

Impact Laferriere has received top-line minutes at even strength as well as a spot on the first power-play unit to begin 2024-25. He's done well with three points, 10 shots on net, four hits, three blocked shots and a plus-3 rating. As long as Quinton Byfield remains in a middle-six role as a center, Laferriere's top-six spot on the wing should be secure.

Kempe is off to a strong start to the season with a goal and three points in three games, and the 28-year-old's spot on the top line and top power-play unit gives him an excellent chance of repeating the career-high 75 points (28 goals, 47 assists) he compiled over 77 regular-season games in 2023-24.

Impact Despite the best efforts of the Kings' captain, Kopitar's team wound up on the wrong end of the decision in a wild afternoon contests that saw seven power-play goals scored in total. Kopitar already has two three-point performances in three games to begin the season, and the 37-year-old still has plenty left in the tank after he delivered 26 goals and 70 points over 81 regular-season games in 2023-24.

The goals were the first of the season for Fiala. who has three points through three games as he looks to record 70-plus points for the fourth straight campaign.
