Joel Edmundson - Slings helper in overtime lossEdmundson provided an assist, five shots on goal and four hits in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Predators.
ImpactEdmundson helped out on an Alex Laferriere goal in the third period. Surprisingly, the five shots were not a season high for Edmundson -- he had seven in a 4-1 win over the Wild on Dec. 7. The 31-year-old blueliner has been a pleasant surprise on offense with 10 points through 31 outings this season, and he's added 52 hits, 48 blocked shots, 43 shots on net, 14 PIM and a plus-14 rating while seeing top-four minutes. His offense alone doesn't move the needle in fantasy, but there's enough physicality to make an impact in deeper formats.

Alex Laferriere - New career mark for goalsLaferriere scored a goal in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Predators on Saturday.
ImpactLaferriere scored the tying goal at 13:23 of the third period on a rebound from in tight while Darcy Kuemper was on the bench for an extra attacker during a delayed penalty. The goal set a new career mark for Laferriere, who had notched 12 last season in 81 games. This season, it took just 33 games to get 13. Laferriere has a modest three points (one goal, two assists) in his last two games, and 25 (13 goals, 12 assists) in those 33 this year. His 18.3 shooting percentage remains unsustainable, but keep him flying until that starts to settle. Laferriere's breakout is real.

Quinton Byfield - Three goals in last four gamesByfield scored a goal in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Predators on Saturday.
ImpactByfield has had a quiet season, but things may be turning around. He has three goals in his last four games, and four points in that span. He also has 11 shots. Byfield is an offensive talent, and this run could be a precursor to the next step in his game. Watch carefully -- his value will take a big leap if he can produce at a 50-60 point pace like he did last season.

Darcy Kuemper - Helps team get pointKuemper made 23 saves in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Predators on Saturday.
ImpactThe Kings were flat for the first two-and-a-half periods, and Kuemper kept things close until they woke up. But he caught out of the crease in OT, and Nick Blakenburg had an easy open net to get the winner. Kuemper and David Rittich are in a straight platoon this season; each netminder has started 16 games. But Kuemper's .911 save percentage is significantly better than Rittich's .890, even with similar GAAs (2.40 Kuemper vs 2.49 Rittich). The Kings are a strong team, so Kuemper is going to deliver for you whenever he's in net.
