Impact Staal will join the Rangers as a Player Development assistant after a 17-year career in the NHL. The 37-year-old compiled 53 goals and 181 assists in 1,136 regular season games with the Rangers, Detroit, Florida and Philadelphia. The defenseman also chipped in with seven goals and 20 points across 128 playoff outings.

Staal is at three points, 23 blocked shots, 17 hits and a plus-2 rating over 19 outings this season, so he doesn't need to be tracked in fantasy.

Impact Staal's tally was his first marker and second point in 15 contests this season. His role with Philadelphia is unlikely to grow as the campaign progresses, so Staal's fantasy value will probably remain minimal.
