Signs KHL deal Comtois signed a contract with Moscow Dynamo of the KHL on Thursday.

Impact No terms were announced. The 25-year-old forward spent five seasons with the Ducks before playing one game at the NHL level in 2023-24 with Carolina. Comtois played 212 regular-season NHL games, scoring 38 goals and adding 49 assists. The feisty winger is young enough that he could eventually return to the NHL.

Hitting free agency Comtois did not receive a qualifying offer from Carolina and will become an unrestricted free agent Monday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.

Impact Comtois tried an assist in his only NHL appearance during the 2023-24 regular season. He scored 19 goals and 44 points in 65 AHL contests. The 25-year-old has 211 games of NHL experience and could secure a two-way deal this offseason.

Signs with AHL Chicago Comtois signed a minor-league contract with AHL Chicago on Sunday, Tony Androckitis of Inside AHL Hockey reports.

Impact Comtois will get a chance to play with the unaffiliated Wolves while he waits for an NHL option. It's believed if Comtois receives an NHL deal, the Wolves would release him to allow him to pursue the opportunity. He was on a professional tryout at Vegas' camp, but didn't make the roster.
