Designated for injured reserve Lucic (ankle) was placed on long-term injured reserve Friday, per the NHL media site.
Impact Lucic's IR designation shouldn't come as a surprise after news broke that he would be out for a couple of weeks. At this point, given he has already missed three games, the winger's placement on injured reserve shouldn't impact his timeline to return. In the meantime, Jesper Boqvist should see extra minutes in a bottom-six role.

Impact Lucic has already been absent for two straight contests due to his injury. He has two assists, two PIM and eight hits in four outings this season. When Lucic is available, Boston will likely use him in a bottom-six capacity, though he might also get the occasional assignment on the power play.
