Impact Chaffee will begin the year with AHL Syracuse if he clears waivers. The 25-year-old winger signed a two-way contract with Tampa Bay in the offseason after tallying seven points (five goals, two assists) in 10 AHL games last year.

Signs with Bolts Chaffee signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Lightning on Saturday.

Impact Chaffee got into only 10 games with AHL Iowa last season, but he managed five goals and two assists. He's got a decent track record for offense at the AHL level, but he'll likely have to start with the Lightning's affiliate if he can't win a depth job out of training camp.
