Brought up from minors Stephens was recalled from AHL Coachella Valley on Tuesday.

Impact Seattle reassigned Cale Fleury, Ales Stezka and Ben Meyers to the minors in corresponding moves while activating Joey Daccord (upper body) from injured reserve. Stephens has posted one assist, seven shots on goal, one blocked shot and six hits in nine NHL outings this season. He will probably occupy a spot on the fourth line versus Columbus on Thursday.

Impact Stephens has an assist in nine outings with Seattle as well as three goals and four points in 11 appearances with Coachella Valley in 2024-25. His demotion might be a result of Seattle acquiring Kaapo Kakko from the Rangers on Wednesday, and if that's the case, then Stephens might be in the minors for a significant amount of time.

Impact This was Stephens' first point in five games at the NHL level. He's never earned more than six points or played in more than 38 games in an NHL campaign, but with Jordan Eberle (pelvis) out on a long-term basis, Stephens could stick around a while while holding a spot in the lineup over Daniel Sprong.

Impact Stephens has chipped in two goals, one assist and 16 shots on net in 23 NHL outings this season. If he clears, Stephens will probably be sent down to the minors. That could pave the way for Tanner Pearson's return to the lineup from an upper-body injury.
