Impact Mailloux opened the game partnered with No. 1 defenseman Michael Matheson but was on ice for just 13 total shifts and saw his TOI reduced by eight minutes compared to his previous outing, a 7-2 loss to the Rangers on Tuesday. The young blueliner had a rough night against New York, finishing with a minus-3 that included letting up on a puck that he perceived was icing but turned into a Rangers' goal.

David Savard - Helps in win Savard logged an assist, five blocks and two hits in Saturday's 5-2 win over St. Louis.

Impact Savard assisted on Montreal's first goal, giving him helpers in two straight games. The five blocks upped his season total to a team-high 22. The 14-year veteran has moved around the pairs, usually partnered with one of the Canadiens' younger defensemen. Lane Hutson - Logs assist in rebound effort Hutson had an assist, one shot, three blocks, two hits and finished plus-1 in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Blues.

Impact Hutson had the secondary helper on Montreal's game-winning goal, giving him five assists in eight games. Saturday was a nice rebound effort for the rookie blueliner, who had some growing pains in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers, when he finished minus-4 and had a bad giveaway that led to a goal. Impact Xhekaj, who had been a healthy scratch the last two games, was given a spot on the active roster due to the absence of Justin Barron, w ho was removed from the Canadiens' previous game with an upper-body injury. In addition to Barron, Montreal is also missing Kaiden Guhle (upper body), which could lead to regular playing time for Xhekaj, who has 13 hits over six appearances.
