David Reinbacher - Exits game with lower-body injury Reinbacher left Saturday's game against Toronto due to a lower-body injury and won't return to the contest.
Impact Reinbacher had two goals and five points in 11 games with AHL Laval in 2023-24. He also recorded a goal and 11 points in 35 outings with Kloten HC of the Swiss League. The 19-year-old isn't likely to make Montreal's Opening Night roster, but he is expected to be a big part of the Canadiens' future after being selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Patrik Laine - Leaves game with injury Laine (knee) left Saturday's game after a dangerous knee-on-knee hit, reports TSN.ca.
Impact Leafs Cedric Pare was flatfooted as Laine entered the Leafs zone, and it appeared that he stuck out his knee. Laine required assistance to get down the tunnel and was seen throwing his glove and helmet in frustration. Laine has been snakebitten most of his career and this doesn't look good.

Sam Montembeault - Set to start Montembeault will patrol the home crease Saturday in preseason action against Toronto, per Simon-Olivier Lorange of La Presse.
Impact Montembeault made 11 saves on 11 shots in a 3-0 exhibition win over New Jersey on Tuesday in 31:28 of playing time. He is expected to share Saturday's contest with Cayden Primeau. Montembeault is projected to start the upcoming campaign as Montreal's No. 1 netminder, while Primeau will be the backup.
