ImpactIafallo barely got on the scoresheet, picking up an assist on Vladislav Namestnikov's empty-net tally with seven seconds remaining. It was the third straight game with a point for Iafallo. Dylan DeMelo - Notches assist in winDeMelo had an assist, two blocks and one hit in Saturday's 4-2 win over Montreal.
ImpactDeMelo, who snapped a 14-game point-less run in Thursday's overtime loss to Vegas, recorded an assist for the second consecutive game. The helper was his fifth over 32 outings. That's well behind the pace set last season when the 31-year-old blueliner posted a career-high 31 points, but the Jets aren't looking for him to regularly land on the scoresheet. Winnipeg relies on him to be the stay-at-home partner on the top pair, allowing Josh Morrissey to push the offense. DeMelo, who finished second in the NHL with a plus-46 rating last season, currently stands at plus-9 in 2024-25.

Juraj Slafkovsky - Returns to top lineSlafkovsky had two shots on goal and one hit in Saturday's 4-2 loss to Winnipeg.
ImpactSlafkovsky was moved back to the top line after a stretch of games on the second line. He and Alex Newhook switched assignments for the game. This was the lone lineup tweak following an embarrassing 9-2 loss to the Penguins on Thursday. Slafkovsky has gone eight games without scoring and has just two goals over 27 outings.

Jayden Struble - Scratched SaturdayStruble was a healthy scratch for Saturday's game against the Jets.
ImpactStruble took a seat for the second time in three games, clearing a roster spot for David Savard, who returned from an upper-body injury. Struble had been a scheduled scratch for the Canadiens' previous game Thursday, per Herb Zurkowsky of the Montreal Gazette but won a reprieve when Savard was a no-go.

David Savard - Returns to lineupSavard had four blocked shots and three hits in Saturday's 4-2 loss to Winnipeg.
ImpactSavard was held out of Montreal's previous game due to an upper-body injury. The 34-year-old defenseman took 18 shifts, had 17:45 TOI and logged minutes on the top PK unit, which is a normal night of work for Savard. The four blocks increased his season total to a team-high 74.

Brendan Gallagher - Supplies assist in lossGallagher notched an assist and two PIM in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Jets.
ImpactThe helper was Gallagher's first point over seven outings in December. While his offense is down, he remains in a third-line role and on the second power-play unit. Prior to the slump, Gallagher enjoyed a productive November, which has him at a total of 14 points through 30 outings overall. He's added 54 shots on net, 36 hits, 13 PIM and a minus-6 rating this season.

Christian Dvorak - Posts assist in lossDvorak notched an assist, four shots on goal and two PIM in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Jets.
ImpactDvorak ended an eight-game point drought when he set up Josh Anderson's third-period tally. The 28-year-old Dvorak has nine points through 30 games in 2024-25, matching his point total from the same number of appearances in an injury-riddled 2023-24. He's done it with two goals, seven assists, 40 shots on net, 32 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating. Dvorak is more of a defensive forward, and he is unlikely to see much more ice time than his usual third-line role provides.
