Joins elite club Seider scored a goal Saturday in a 4-2 win over the Maple Leafs.

Impact Seider knocked in a pass after an Auston Matthews turn over at center ice. It was his 150th NHL point (25 goals, 125 assists). Seider is the sixth player and first defenseman from the 2019 Entry Draft to hit that mark. He joins Jack Hughes, Matt Boldy, Dylan Cozens, Cole Caufield and Trevor Zegras in the 150 club. Seider has put up two consecutive 42-point seasons, and he's on track to match that mark this year. He has four goals, 12 assists and 60 shots in 30 games.

Impact After setting up an Andrew Copp tally in the first period, Seider forced OT with a goal of his own late in the third when he wired a shot through traffic from the faceoff dot past James Reimer. Impact Seider snapped a four-game pointless streak with this strong showing Monday, where he scored late in the first period before setting up Lukas Raymond's game-winning goal midway through the third frame. That said, Seider has struggled with consistency. Despite playing in the top defensive pairing, the 23-year-old has failed to crack the scoresheet in seven of his last 10 games. Undoubtedly, that lack of consistency limits his upside in most formats.

Impact The pairing of Seider and Simon Edvinsson was on the ice for all four of the Red Wings' goals in the win. Seider is starting to find a groove again with five helpers over his last five contests. The 23-year-old defenseman remains capable of excellent category coverage in fantasy. Agrees to seven-year contract Seider signed a seven-year, $59.85 million contract with the Red Wings on Thursday.

Impact Seider was a restricted free agent, and this agreement, along with locking Lucas Raymond up to an eight-year, $64.6 million contract Monday, puts Detroit's books in order going into the 2024-25 campaign. As is the case with Raymond's deal, Seider's cap hit ($8.55 million) looks solid now for what he brings to the table and could become tremendous value as he continues to develop and the salary cap increases further. The 23-year-old defenseman had nine goals and 42 points in 82 contests last season, making it the third straight campaign in which he surpassed the 40-point mark. Seider is expected to enter the season as a member of Detroit's top four and receive steady work with the man advantage.
