Juuse Saros - Set to start Thursday Saros will protect the home goal versus the Oilers on Thursday, Nick Kieser of 102.5 ESPN Nashville reports.
Impact Saros allowed six goals on 34 shots in his previous start versus the Kraken, taking his second loss of the season. The 29-year-old Finn remains the Predators' top goalie despite the early struggles. He'll face a tough task Thursday, as the Oilers scored four goals on 11 shots in Saros' lone start against them last year. Edmonton has typically found success against Nashville, especially Leon Draisaitl.

Impact Carrier was the only Nashville defenseman to break even in plus-minus rating Tuesday, though he is minus-2 on the year. The helper was his first point to go with four blocked shots through three contests. Carrier may be trending upward -- he's still listed on the third pairing, but Dante Fabbro has seen less ice time while playing alongside Roman Josi at even strength. Carrier has reached 20 points in two of the previous three seasons while also being a strong shot-blocking presence, so he could have appeal in deep fantasy formats.

Mark Jankowski - Deals assist Tuesday Jankowski recorded an assist in Tuesday's 7-3 loss to the Kraken.
Impact Jankowski has maintained a third-line role to begin 2024-25, though his helper Tuesday was his first point in three games. He's added two shots on net and no hits, as the 30-year-old plays a defensive but not particularly gritty game. He hasn't reached the 20-point mark in any of the last five seasons, so Jankowski offers minimal upside in fantasy.

Michael McCarron - Scores in Tuesday's loss McCarron scored a goal and went minus-4 in Tuesday's 7-3 loss to the Kraken.
Impact McCarron netted his first goal of the campaign, but the Predators' fourth line was caved in by the Kraken's offense. The 29-year-old has added three shots on net, two hits, two blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over three games this season. He'll likely rack up plenty of hits and PIM, but McCarron's career high in points came last year (22 in 70 regular-season games), and he doesn't have a lot of upside in that area.

Brady Skjei - First goal with new club Skjei scored his first goal of the season in Tuesday's 7-3 defeat to Seattle.
Impact Skjei fired home a rebound late in the second period of Tuesday's loss, but it was the last marker of the game for Nashville. The left-shot defenseman added five shots, one block and a minus-1 rating in 22:51 of ice time. Skjei is coming off his most productive season in his 10-year NHL career -- he generated 47 points in 80 regular-season games with Carolina in 2023-24. As a result, Skjei was rewarded with a seven-year contract from Nashville in July. The former first-round pick is serving in a top-four capacity and seeing time on the power play.

Tommy Novak - Tallies in Tuesday's loss Novak netted a goal in Tuesday's 7-3 loss versus the Kraken.
Impact Novak had a yawning cage to shoot at after being set up on his goal by Mark Jankowski, but it wasn't enough to help Nashville overcome Seattle's offensive outburst. Novak is filling a third-line role while skating on the second power-play unit, so he's not relied upon much for primary scoring. The 27-year-old has reached the 43-point mark in back-to-back seasons, and he should be able to post similar numbers in 2024-25.

Filip Forsberg - Banks assist in loss Forsberg produced an even-strength assist in Tuesday's 7-3 loss to Seattle.
Impact Forsberg helped the Preds tie the game late in the second period with a secondary assist on Brady Skjei's first goal of the season. In addition, Forsberg fired five shots on goal and added two PIM and four hits to round out a solid fantasy performance. The Swedish star had a career-best 94 points in 2023-24 while skating in all 82 games, the first time he's done so since the 2016-17 campaign. Those numbers will be hard to match, but it's not out of the realm of possibilities when factoring in Nashville's additions of Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault

Juuse Saros - Shaky in Tuesday's defeat Saros allowed six goals on 34 shots in Tuesday's 7-3 loss to the Kraken.
Impact Saros kept his team in the contest until the Kraken exploded for four goals in the third period, one of which was an empty-netter. Through two games, Saros sports an 0-2-0 record, 4.19 GAA and an .855 save percentage. The 29-year-old was dealing with a lower-body injury to start the campaign and missed the season-opener, so it's possible that could be attributed to his slow start. Saros' next chance to rebound will come in a home matchup against the Oilers on Thursday.
