Impact After his six-game winning streak ended in an overtime loss to Montreal in his last outing, Saros got back on track Thursday, holding Buffalo to a Bowen Byram goal in the first period and an Owen Power tally in the third. The 28-year-old netminder improves to 27-21-3 with a .907 save percentage and 2.83 GAA on the season. He'll likely be back between the pipes Saturday on the road versus the Blue Jackets.

Impact Forsberg put the Predators ahead 1-0 with a power-play marker 3:53 into the first period. He'd add two more goals in the final frame to pick up his first hat trick since 2022. The 29-year-old Forsberg extended his point streak to seven games -- he has seven goals and 12 points in that span. It's been an excellent campaign overall for Forsberg. Juuse Saros - Slated to face Sabres Saros is set to start at home against Buffalo on Thursday, according to Zach Gilchriest of the Predators' official site.
Impact Saros saw his personal six-game winning streak come to an end Tuesday when he stopped 26 of 30 shots en route to a 4-3 overtime loss to Montreal. He's 26-21-3 with a 2.85 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 50 outings this season. The Sabres are tied for 24th offensively this year with 2.90 goals per contest, so this should be a favorable matchup for Saros.

Impact Hanzel signed a three-year, entry-level with the Avalanche mere hours before the trade. He has 13 goals and 50 points in 58 contests with WHL Seattle this season. Colorado took him with the No. 187 pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Anthony Beauvillier - Traded to Nashville Beauvillier was traded from the Blackhawks to the Predators in exchange for a 2024 fifth-round pick Thursday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.
Impact The Hawks acquired Beauvillier from Vancouver in exchange for a fifth-round pick in November, so Chicago will essentially just recoup the asset it originally traded for the 26-year-old winger with this move. Beauvillier hasn't been great this season, picking up just 14 points through 45 games. He could replace Mark Jankowski on Nashville's third line, but Beauvillier likely won't see much power-play time with his new team.

Impact O'Reilly scored what he hoped would have been the game winner late in the third period but the scrappy Canadiens mounted a comeback that ended in an overtime loss for Nashville to end their eight-game winning streak. He also added two assists, four shots on net, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in 19:08 of ice time. The 33-year old center is riding a five game point streak scoring three goals and six assists during that span. This recent surge brings his season total to a respectable 54 points - 23 goals and 31 assists - in 63 games played.

Impact After being a game-time decision (illness), Slafkovsky was in his regular spot on the third line being centered by Thomas Novak. Evangelista finished with an assist, one shot and a minus-1 rating in 13:51 of ice time. He has 28 points in 68 games played. The 22-year old winger is an intriguing young player with flashes of offensive potential. While his immediate fantasy value remains limited due to his third-line role and lack of consistent playing time, he is a player to keep an eye on especially if he starts to receive more power-play time.

Impact The Predators played with the lead for most of the game but the scrappy Canadiens kept answering back and filling the net on Saros. The four goals allowed all happened after the 16:39 mark of the second period, including the game-winner in overtime just 17 seconds in. Prior to this game, Nashville was on an eight-game winning streak which included Saros' own winning streak of six games. The Predators' playoff push will impact Saros' win-loss record as they will be playing him a significant amount for the remainder of the season.
