Egor Afanasyev - Sent to AHL affiliateAfanasyev was reassigned to AHL Milwaukee on Monday.
ImpactAfanasyev has been a healthy scratch for five straight contests for the Predators, so this move doesn't come as a surprise. The 23-year-old rookie has gone scoreless through two top-level appearances this season.
FEBRUARY 26•ROTOWIRE
Max Jones - Generates helper in lossJones produced an assist and four hits in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Predators.
ImpactJones has two helpers over eight games in February after missing nearly all of January with an upper-body injury. He's played mainly on the fourth line, which drastically limits his chances to contribute on offense. The 26-year-old winger has 10 points, 56 shots on net, 106 hits, 27 PIM and a minus-10 rating through 42 appearances. Jones may be at risk of losing playing time to Brett Leason, who returned to the lineup with two points after sitting out six games as a healthy scratch, though Ross Johnston's spot may be in more danger.
FEBRUARY 26•ROTOWIRE
Isac Lundestrom - Lights lamp in lossLundestrom scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Predators.
ImpactThe goal was Lundestrom's first point over eight outings in February. The 24-year-old is not known for big scoring numbers, instead playing a more defensive role on the Ducks' third line. He's split time between center and wing this season, most recently playing on Ryan Strome's left side. Lundestrom has five points, 20 shots on net, 22 hits and a plus-2 rating over 22 appearances.
FEBRUARY 26•ROTOWIRE
Brett Leason - Checks in with two pointsLeason scored a goal on two shots, dished an assist, added three hits, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Predators.
ImpactLeason had been scratched for six straight games, and he played like he didn't want to go back to the press box any time soon. The 24-year-old helped out on Isac Lundestrom's second-period tally before scoring a goal of his own in the third. Leason has been okay for a bottom-six forward with 14 points, 61 shots on net, 48 hits, 37 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over 44 appearances this season. He was in the lineup due to Troy Terry (upper body) being held out. Leason likely won't do enough to help in fantasy, but he could push Ross Johnston or Max Jones out of the lineup.
FEBRUARY 26•ROTOWIRE
Lukas Dostal - Takes another lossDostal allowed three goals on 28 shots in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Predators. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.
ImpactDostal has allowed 15 goals over his last five outings, going 0-4-0 in that span. The 23-year-old netminder has gotten seven goals of support from his teammates over his last four starts, which won't make it easy for him to pick up wins. Dostal is at 8-15-1 with a 3.70 GAA and an .897 save percentage through 27 appearances this season. He likely won't have to wait long for his next start -- the Ducks play a back-to-back next with a road game in San Jose on Thursday followed by a home game Friday versus the Devils.
FEBRUARY 26•ROTOWIRE
Kiefer Sherwood - Slides helper in Sunday's winSherwood notched an assist, four hits and two PIM in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Ducks.
ImpactSherwood entered the lineup Feb. 17 against the Blues and has racked up five points during the Predators' five-game road trip. His latest offering was a secondary helper on Michael McCarron's game-winning tally in the third period. The 28-year-old Sherwood is up to 16 points, 68 shots on net, 154 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-9 rating through 45 outings. He's filled a variety of roles over his two years with the Predators, but he's been successful on the fourth line lately.
FEBRUARY 26•ROTOWIRE
Tommy Novak - Faceoff win generates assistNovak produced an assist in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Ducks.
ImpactNovak won a faceoff back to Filip Forsberg, who quickly buried the Predators' second goal at 3:26 of the third period. The helper gave Novak 10 points over the last 10 games, a span in which he's been held scoreless only once. The 26-year-old center is up to 31 points, 77 shots on net and a minus-7 rating over 48 appearances. Novak's consistency of late makes him a strong depth option in fantasy.
