Jacob Markstrom - Starting Wednesday Markstrom is expected to start at home in Wednesday's preseason game versus Washington, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.
Impact Markstrom stopped 17 of 19 shots in a 4-2 exhibition loss to the Islanders on Sunday. He logged 40 minutes in that game before Nico Daws came out for the third. Goaltender Jake Allen will be on the Devils' roster for the upcoming contest against the Capitals, but it's not known if the plan is to have Markstrom play the full game or eventually be substituted for Allen

Erik Haula - Skating, won't play Wednesday Haula (illness) skated Wednesday, but he won't play in the evening's preseason game against Washington, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Impact It's the first time Haula has been on the ice with his teammates since training camp began. Although Haula needs some time to get back to full strength, he might still be an option for Friday's exhibition contest versus the Islanders. The 33-year-old had 16 goals and 35 points in 76 regular-season outings in 2023-24.

Jake Allen - Slated to play Allen is expected to guard the road goal in Tuesday's exhibition contest against Montreal, according to Catherine Bogart of the Devils' official site.
Impact Allen accumulated a 12-18-4 record with a 3.44 GAA and an .895 save percentage over 34 regular-season outings between Montreal and New Jersey in 2023-24. The 34-year-old netminder is expected to be Jacob Markstrom's backup in the 2024-25 campaign.

Impact Haula hasn't skated yet during training camp, but he was at the arena Sunday for a short workout, according to Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site. The 33-year-old Haula will be brought along slowly to rebuild his strength from an illness. He notched 16 goals and 19 assists across 76 regular-season outings in 2023-24. Haula will probably occupy a middle-six role and could see power-play time during the upcoming campaign.

Chris Tierney - Joins KHL team Tierney signed a one-year contract with Dinamo Minsk of the KHL on Monday.
Impact Tierney registered four goals and 12 points across 52 regular-season contests with New Jersey in 2023-24. The 30-year-old forward has amassed 80 goals and 248 points over 649 games during his NHL career.
