ImpactCizikas snapped a nine-game point drought with the lone assist on Matt Martin's third-period marker. The 32-year-old Cizikas is a defensive stalwart for the Islanders, but he rarely plays above the fourth line. He's at 11 points, 43 shots on net, 69 hits, 41 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating through 38 appearances, so his fantasy value is limited to deep formats.

Anders Lee - Registers assist SaturdayLee notched an assist, four shots on goal, two hits and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

ImpactLee helped out on a Mathew Barzal goal in the first period. With a goal and an assist over the last two games, Lee appears to be bouncing back from his four-game point drought. The 33-year-old winger is in a good spot on the Islanders' productive top line. For the season, Lee has 17 points, 96 shots on net, 58 hits and a plus-3 rating through 39 appearances.

Bo Horvat - Deals helper in lossHorvat notched an assist, four shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

ImpactHorvat set up Mathew Barzal's goal in the first period, which required video review to confirm. Those two forwards have gelled on the top line lately, with Horvat racking up 23 points over 17 contests since the start of December. For the season, the 28-year-old center has 16 goals, 23 helpers, 112 shots on net, 30 hits, 24 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a plus-8 rating through 38 appearances. His scoring pace looks more sustainable this year -- he's shooting 14.3 percent compared to the 16.6 percent mark he had in 2022-23.

Matt Martin - Pokes in goalMartin scored a goal, added five hits and blocked two shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

ImpactMartin shoveled in a Casey Cizikas pass at 2:42 of the third period to cut the deficit to two goals, but Vegas quickly responded. The tally was Martin's first point in four games since he returned from two stints on injured reserve with an upper-body injury. The 34-year-old winger has just three points and 16 shots to go with 40 points and 12 PIM through 18 outings this season, so he's not likely to be helpful in fantasy.

ImpactBarzal snapped a 10-game goal drought with a tally only he knew was in the net in the first period. During that scoring slump, he still managed nine assists while continuing to show chemistry with Bo Horvat on the top line. Barzal is up to 11 goals, 40 points, 111 shots on net and a plus-4 rating through 38 appearances. He's on track for his best season since his Calder-winning rookie year in 2017-18, when he had 85 points in 82 contests.

Ilya Sorokin - Slips up in VegasSorokin stopped 24 of 29 shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

ImpactSorokin nearly got through the second period with the game tied at 1-1, but a pair of goals in 90 seconds put the Golden Knights ahead 3-1 at the intermission. The Islanders were unable to bounce back from that, sending Sorokin to his fourth loss in the last seven outings. In that span, he's allowed four or more goals four times. The 28-year-old is at a 12-7-8 record with a 3.17 GAA and a .909 save percentage over 27 contests. With Semyon Varlamov (lower body) still ailing, Sorokin figures to receive the lion's share of the starts.

Lukas Cormier - Helper in NHL debutCormier notched a power-play assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Islanders.

ImpactCormier made his NHL debut Saturday, logging 19:46 of ice time. His first point was on Jack Eichel's tally just 31 seconds into the third period, which stretched the Golden Knights' lead to 4-1. With injuries mounting on the blue line, Cormier may have a chance to show his progress after a mediocre training camp. He was paired alongside Brayden McNabb in a top-four role Saturday, though Cormier may have to eventually settle for third-pairing minutes.
