Ryder Korczak - Heads to AHLKorczak (upper body) was assigned to AHL Hartford on Saturday.
ImpactKorczak had been dealing with an injury during training camp, but his move to the minors suggests a return to action should be near. The 22-year-old forward earned nine goals and 20 points in 67 games with AHL Hartford during the 2023-24 regular season. Korczak will probably spend most, if not all, of this campaign in the minors. He hasn't received the chance to make his NHL debut yet.

Brennan Othmann - Sent to AHL HartfordOthmann was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Saturday.
ImpactOthmann made his NHL debut last season, playing in three regular-season games with nary a point. The 16th overall pick in 2021, Othmann had 21 goals and 28 assists in 67 regular-season games with AHL Hartford in 2023-24. He should get some time in the NHL this year as the Rangers regard him highly.

Connor Mackey - Placed on waiversMackey hit the waiver wire Saturday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
ImpactMackey played only one game for the Rangers in 2023-24, picking up a fighting major and three blocked shots. The 28-year-old spent most of the 2023-24 campaign at AHL Hartford, where he had two goals and nine points in 44 regular-season contests.

Bo Horvat - Nets two goals vs. RangersHorvat bagged two goals (on five shots) in Friday's 5-2 preseason win over the Rangers.
ImpactHorvat opened his account with a powerplay tally in the final minutes of the first half and later doubled his tally with a snap shot in the second period. Horvat is coming off a career-best season in 2023-24 after notching 68 points (33 goals, 35 assists) across 81 regular-season appearances, and he figures to center the Islanders' first line in the campaign opener against Utah on Oct. 10.

Maxim Tsyplakov - Bags powerplay goalTsyplakov bagged a goal (on three shots) and added an assist in Friday's 5-2 preseason win over the Rangers.
ImpactTsyplakov was outstanding in the powerplay, as both of his goal contributions in this "Battle of New York" came with the man advantage -- he set up Bo Horvat's goal in the final minutes of the first period and later gave the Isles the lead with less than a minute to go in the second frame. Tsyplakov had 31 goals and 47 points in 63 regular-season contests with the KHL's Moscow Spartak in 2023-24, and based on what he's shown in the preseason, he's expected to have a role as a top-six forward for the Isles once they begin their regular-season play against Utah on Oct. 10.
