Brad Hunt - Back with AvalancheHunt was recalled from AHL Colorado on Sunday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
ImpactHunt was briefly returned to the minors following Colorado's 4-1 win over Seattle on Friday in Game 6. He could be an option for Game 7 on Sunday due to the absence of Andrew Cogliano (neck). Hunt registered 10 points, 46 shots on goal and 16 hits in 47 appearances with the Avalanche during the regular season.

Andrew Cogliano - Out for playoffsCogliano will miss the rest of the playoffs after suffering a fractured neck in Game 6 of the first round against Seattle on Friday, Kyle Fredrickson of The Denver Gazette reports.
ImpactCogliano is scheduled to undergo a follow-up MRI on Sunday, which could provide a clearer timetable for his return. Blueliner Brad Hunt is projected to dress as a forward in Sunday's Game 7 matchup against the Kraken. Cogliano had one shot on goal, two blocked shots and five hits in four outings this postseason. The 35-year-old forward accounted for 10 goals and 19 points in 79 regular-season contests during the 2022-23 campaign.

Philipp Grubauer - Tending twine SundayGrubauer will get the starting nod in Colorado for Game 7 on Sunday, per the NHL's media site.
ImpactGrubauer has started all six games this series against his former team. He's registered a .919 save percentage and a 2.68 GAA during those six appearances. In the three road games so far, Grubauer has stopped a combined 98 of 104 shots while going 2-1.

Oliver Bjorkstrand - Hero of Game 7Bjorkstrand scored two goals in Seattle's 2-1 victory over Colorado in Game 7 on Sunday.
ImpactBjorkstrand had an otherwise quiet series offensively, providing two assists in the previous six contests, but he delivered when the Kraken needed him the most. With 20 goals and 45 points in 81 regular-season outings, it could be argued that the 28-year-old was an unlikely hero, but it also speaks to Seattle's strength of having a wealth of players who can step up offensively. The Kraken will need continued support from forwards like Bjorkstrand, who will likely continue to serve in a middle-six capacity, in their upcoming series against Dallas.

Philipp Grubauer - Eliminates former teamGrubauer saved 33 of 34 shots in a 2-1 victory over Colorado in Game 7 on Sunday.
ImpactGrubauer spent three years with Colorado before signing a six-year, $35.4 million contract with Seattle in the summer of 2021. Grubauer failed to live up to that contract during his first two regular seasons with the Kraken, posting a 17-14-4 record, 2.85 GAA and .895 save percentage in 39 outings during the 2022-23 campaign specifically. However, a lot of that can be forgiven after the way he played against his former team in this series. The 31-year-old has a 4-3 record, 2.45 GAA and .926 save percentage in seven playoff appearances this year. The Kraken will be looking for more of the same out of him in the second round against Dallas.

Yanni Gourde - Picks up two assists SundayGourde registered two assists in Seattle's 2-1 victory over Colorado in Game 7 on Sunday.
ImpactGourde has finished the first-round series with a goal and six points in seven contests. The 31-year-old is one of the Kraken's most experienced forwards when it comes to the postseason, having been a part of the Lightning during their 2020 and 2021 Stanley Cup-winning runs. Through 76 career playoff appearances, Gourde has 17 goals and 35 points.

Mikko Rantanen - Nets power-play goal in lossRantanen supplied a power-play goal in Colorado's 2-1 loss to Seattle in Game 7 on Sunday.
ImpactRantanen found the back of the net late in the second period to reduce Seattle's lead to 2-1, but the Avalanche weren't able to complete the comeback bid. The Avalanche were doubtlessly hoping for a longer playoff run after winning the Stanley Cup in 2022, and Rantanen did everything in his power to try and make that happen. The 26-year-old finished the playoffs with seven goals and 10 points in seven appearances. He was also superb during the regular season, setting career highs with 55 goals and 105 points in 82 outings.
