Involved in trade Bjugstad was acquired by New Jersey from St. Louis on Wednesday in exchange for Thomas Bordeleau and a conditional 2026 fourth-round draft pick.

Impact Bjugstad had six goals, seven points, 25 PIM and 73 hits in 35 outings with St. Louis in 2025-26 before the trade. He'll probably be limited to a bottom-six role with the Devils, but that might still result in him getting more ice time than the 11:38 he averaged with the Blues this season.

Activated off IR Bjugstad (upper body) was taken off injured reserve and will face the Hurricanes on Tuesday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Impact Bjugstad will return to the lineup following a 15-game stint on the shelf due to his upper-body issue. Before getting hurt, the veteran forward was struggling to produce offensively, going 10 games without producing a point while only adding 13 shots. Even with his injury woes behind him, Bjugstad's lack of production could see him serving as a healthy scratch periodically.

Set for five-day absence Bjugstad (upper body) will be out of action for the next five days, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports Wednesday, which means he will be out for the Blues' next three games.

Impact Bjugstad was injured against Boston on Tuesday and will now be facing about a week out of the lineup. In Bjugstad's stead, the team signed Robby Fabbri to a two-way contract and will insert him into the lineup versus the Predators on Thursday. For his part, Bjugstad has struggled offensively this year with just five points in 25 appearances. Don't be surprised to see Bjugstad land on injured reserve, given his recovery timeline.
