Impact Sundqvist was a healthy scratch for two games recently, but he's played the last two contests. He's part of a bottom-six rotation of scratches that also includes Mathieu Joseph, Alexandre Texier and Zachary Bolduc, all of whom will be trying to impress new head coach Jim Montgomery. Sundqvist is at three points, seven shots on net, 24 hits, 12 blocked shots and 12 PIM through 14 appearances in 2024-25, giving him minimal upside for fantasy purposes.

Sundqvist has exceeded the 30-point mark just once in his career, so he's likely to fill a bottom-six role for most, if not all, of the campaign.

Sundqvist, normally a center, is easing his way back into the lineup and could shift to his normal position in the middle soon, per Jeremey Rutherford of The Athletic. Robert Thomas' lower-body injury made the club susceptible on faceoffs -- he was the team leader at the dot, winning 62.6 percent of the draws. Sundqvist will operate at both and wing and center for now, but he could help in the faceoff circle, where the Blues won just 32 percent of their draws against the Leafs.

Impact Sundqvist is far from a lock to suit up on a nightly basis even with his knee injury seemingly behind him. Still, with Robert Thomas (ankle) facing an extended stint on the shelf, Sundqvist could be pressed into service as soon as Thursday's matchup with Toronto. In 71 regular-season tilts last year, the Swedish center generated just 21 points and will be hard-pressed to provide significantly more offense in 2024-25.
