Jeff Petry - Exits game with undisclosed injuryPetry won't return to Saturday's game against New Jersey due to an undisclosed injury.

ImpactPetry was injured when he collided with teammate Christian Fischer, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports. Both players left the contest as a result of the incident. Petry entered Saturday's action with a goal, 10 points, 34 hits and 49 blocks in 26 outings in 2023-24. If he isn't available Wednesday versus Minnesota, then Justin Holl might draw back into the lineup.

Christian Fischer - Hurt in Saturday's contestFischer (undisclosed) sustained an injury in the second period of Saturday's game versus the Devils.

ImpactFischer collided with teammate Jeff Petry, and both players' nights ended with that accidental run-in. The 26-year-old Fischer should be considered day-to-day for now, though he appeared to get the worst of the collision. If he can't play Wednesday versus the Wild, Austin Czarnik may enter the lineup in a fourth-line role.

ImpactHutchinson is set to get the nod because Ville Husso (lower body) and Alex Lyon (upper body) are both unavailable while James Reimer was in net Friday. Hutchinson, who hasn't played for the Red Wings before, has recorded a 2.98 GAA and an .895 save percentage in 13 AHL contests this season. He's drawing a tough assignment in New Jersey, which ranks eighth offensively this year with 3.42 goals per game.

Alex Lyon - Placed on injured reserveLyon (upper body) was put on injured reserve Saturday, retroactive to Dec. 16.

ImpactLyon was playing very well before his injury, as he was 4-3-0 with a 2.14 GAA and .932 save percentage. The Red Wings are having trouble at this time between the pipes as Ville Husso (lower body) is also on injured reserve. James Reimer and Michael Hutchinson are currently the top two healthy goaltenders on the roster and Detroit is really struggling as they are 3-6-1 in their last 10 games.

Simon Edvinsson - Recalled SaturdayEdvinsson was called up from AHL Grand Rapids on Saturday.

ImpactWith Olli Maatta (upper body) ruled out, Edvinsson will likely join the Red Wings' defensive corps for Saturday's matchup with the Devils. Edvinsson, the sixth-overall pick in 2021, scored two goals in nine games with Detroit last season. He had six goals and 16 points in 25 AHL games this year.
