Waived for AHL demotion Kemp was placed on waivers Tuesday for the purpose of assigning him to AHL Bakersfield.

Impact Kemp notched two goals and 15 points in 64 games with AHL Bakersfield during the 2023-24 regular season. He also made his NHL debut versus Montreal on Jan. 13, logging just 2:03 of ice time. Kemp will likely spend most, if not all, of the 2024-25 campaign in the minors.

Impact Kemp's reassignment Tuesday appears to have been a paper move. The 24-year-old will serve as a depth defenseman during his stay with the big club.

Impact Kemp has been a healthy scratch for five of six games since being promoted from the minors Jan. 8, so this move doesn't come as a surprise. He'll likely continue to see nearly all of his game action in the minors.

Impact Kemp produced six goals, 21 points and 51 PIM in 71 games with AHL Bakersfield during the 2022-23 season. The 24-year-old blueliner doesn't have any NHL experience yet.
