John Ludvig - Game-time call versus New Jersey Ludvig (illness) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's matchup with the Devils, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
Impact Considering coach Mike Sullivan firmly ruled out Tristan Jarry, who is also dealing with an illness, there seems to be a chance Ludvig is healthy enough to play Tuesday. In 33 games this season, the 23-year-old Ludvig has generated just three goals and two assists but has delivered 72 hits and 33 blocks. If Ludvig does play, it would likely mean a return to the press box for Ryan Shea or Jack St. Ivany.

Tristan Jarry - Remains out Tuesday Jarry (illness) will not be available against the Devils on Tuesday, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
Impact Without Jarry in the lineup, the team called up Joel Blomqvist to serve as the backup to Alex Nedeljkovic, who will be making his sixth straight start. At this point, with Jarry having just one win in his last eight appearances, the Penguins may continue to roll with Nedeljkovic down the stretch -- at least as long as their is a glimmer of hope for securing a wild-card spot.

Alex Nedeljkovic - Starting again Tuesday Nedeljkovic will tend the twine on the road against New Jersey on Tuesday, Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Impact Nedeljkovic will take both ends of the Penguins' back-to-back due to the absence of Tristan Jarry (illness). The 28-year-old Nedlejkovic was solid in the first game Monday, stopping 28 of 30 shots in a winning effort versus the Rangers. It will be the sixth consecutive start for Nedeljkovic, having gone undefeated in regulation in the previous five outings (3-0-2).

Sam Poulin - Sent back to minors Poulin was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday.
Impact Poulin needed to be sent back to the minors in order to free up the necessary cap space to bring up Joel Blomqvist in light of Tristan Jarry's (illness) potential absence. If the Pens can get either Jarry back or one of their two injured defenseman, it could clear the way for Poulin to be called back up ahead of Thursday's tilt with Washington.

Impact Blomqvist addition to the roster could be an indication that Tristan Jarry (illness) once again won't be available against New Jersey on Tueesday. The Penguins didn't carry a second netmidner on the roster versus the Rangers on Monday but will at least have Blomqvist available if needed.

With his offensive game underwhelming, Smith finds himself in a third-line role while Drew O'Connor gets minutes with Sidney Crosby on the top line.

Impact Puljujarvi has generated two goals, one assist and seven shots in six games since returning to the lineup. The winger is firmly cemented in a bottom-six role, as Drew O'Connor and Michael Bunting continue to see top-six opportunities with the Penguins' star centers.
