Nashville Predators place captain Roman Josi on injured reserve with upper body injury The Nashville Predators will be without their captain Roman Josi for at least another week as he's been placed on injured reserve.

Lands on IR Josi (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Nick Kieser of 102.5 ESPN Nashville reports.

Impact While it doesn't sound like Josi is expected to be out long term, the veteran blueliner will miss at least three more games after he was sidelined Thursday against Winnipeg. Josi has nine goals and 38 points through 53 games this season. Spencer Stastney was recalled from AHL Milwaukee in a corresponding move.

Impact Josi remains day-to-day but a back-to-back against the Islanders and Rangers on Saturday and Sunday. respectively, won't make it easy for the blueliner to get back into the lineup right away. Impact Josi left Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Florida after he was hit by Sam Bennett in the second period. The 34-year-old Josi has nine goals and 38 points in 53 appearances in 2024-25. If Josi misses Thursday's tilt against Winnipeg, then Jake Livingstone will likely make his NHL season debut.

Impact The helper was Josi's first point since Jan. 23, which was the last contest of his seven-game point streak. He's now at nine goals, 27 assists, 142 shots on net, 82 blocked shots, 40 hits and a minus-26 rating through 48 outings -- it's still good offense for a defenseman, but Josi is far behind last year's 23-goal, 85-point performance.
