Yanked after one frame Ersson was removed after allowing three goals on 12 shots in the first period of a 6-2 loss to Toronto on Thursday.

Impact He played the first period, but was stapled to the bench to start the second. The Leafs had come at Ersson in waves in the frame, and their three goals were the NHL's best eighth time the Leafs had scored at least three first-period goals. Ersson may be wearing down after a strong start to the season. He is 4-5-2 in the last month (11 starts) with 30 goals allowed. Overall, his save percentage has dropped to .898.

Impact Ersson was solid in his last start on Tuesday against San Jose, stopping 27 of 29 shots in a 3-2 win. The 24-year-old has registered an .899 save percentage and a 19-13-5 record. He will have a tough test tonight against Toronto who is 19-7-6 on the road.

Impact It was a strong bounce-back outing from Ersson after he gave up four goals on just 15 shots in a loss to Tampa Bay in his previous start. The 24-year-old netminder held the Sharks to just a pair of power-play tallies Tuesday as he improved to 19-13-5 with an .899 save percentage and 2.61 GAA on the season. Ersson has started 15 of Philadelphia's last 18 games and he'll likely be back between the pipes Thursday when the Flyers host Toronto.

Ersson has taken on a massive workload with Carter Hart (undisclosed) out, and it could be taking it's toll.

The Lightning are in a battle for the final two wild card spots in the Eastern Conference with the Flyers, Detroit and the Islanders, so this is an important matchup for both teams.

In four of the last nine games, he's been at an .872 save percentage or below. In the other five starts, he's been at .909 or above. It's a roller coaster.

Impact Ersson has conceded three or more goals in four of his last seven outings, registering a combined 3-3-1 record and 3.17 GAA over that stretch. Still, the netminder should continue to see the majority of the workload considering the Flyers don't have much in the way of alternatives between either Felix Sandstrom and Cal Petersen.

With Philly back in action Saturday against Ottawa, Felix Sandstrom seems likely to get the nod between the pipes.

Impact In his last outing, Ersson stopped 20 of 22 shots while defeating the Lightning. Since the start of January, the 24-year-old is 8-6-2 with an .899 save percentage.

Ersson has become the defacto No. 1 goalie for the Flyers as he's played in 14 of their last 16 games with six wins during that span. Be aware that the Flyers' overall record may not be ideal for his fantasy value.

He'll try to get back in the win column in a home matchup with a Tampa Bay team that's averaging 3.00 goals on the road this season, 22nd in the NHL.

Solid in loss Ersson made 22 saves in a 2-1 loss to the Rangers on Saturday.

Impact Alexis Lafreniere beat him five-hole from the top of the left circle during a 4-on-4 in the second period. And Matt Rempe had a shot hit his leg while he was parked in front of the net and deflect in during the third. Ersson is 4-2-1 in seven games during February. He started that run with two wins and just two goals allowed, and he has allowed only three in his most-recent two games. But in three games in between, Ersson allowed 12 goals. He has been pressed into a heavy workload with Carter Hart (personal) sidelined, and he's performed remarkably well given he'd had just 10 starts and 12 games played prior to this season.
