Impact It's not unusual for Benoit to be ultra-physical, but the assist was icing on the cake. He helped out on a Nicholas Robertson tally in the second period, which put the Maple Leafs ahead 3-0. Benoit has contributed three assists -- all over his last seven outings -- as well as 12 shots on net, 51 hits, 35 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating through 21 appearances this season.

Impact The helper was Benoit's second of the season over 16 games. The 26-year-old defenseman typically makes more of an impact with physicality than scoring, and that's been true in 2024-25 -- he has 31 hits, 28 blocked shots and 12 PIM. He's holding down a third-pairing role for now, though he could face pressure for playing time from Matt Benning or Philippe Myers in the short term, and he could be out of the mix entirely once Jani Hakanpaa (knee) is cleared to play.

Impact Benoit has logged 54 games for the Leafs this season in which he has notched one goal on 48 shots and four assists while averaging 16:55 of ice time. While the 25-year-old blueliner won't offer much in the way of offensive upside, he does have value in formats that utilize hits and blocks, as he has racked up 204 and 82, respectively.
