Nicholas Paul - Nabs power-play assist Paul recorded a power-play assist and two hits in Friday's 4-1 win over the Hurricanes.
Impact Paul was on the second line in the season opener, earning 17:34 of ice time. It's similar usage to what he's seen in previous campaigns. The 29-year-old put up 24 goals and 22 assists in 82 regular-season outings in 2023-24, which was a career year. He can also chip in 100-plus hits while seeing time on the second power-play unit, which makes him a viable depth option in fantasy.

Victor Hedman - Credited with three assists Hedman notched three assists, including two on the power play, and two shots on goal in Friday's 4-1 win over the Hurricanes.
Impact Hedman is one of the elite defensemen in the NHL and delivered an impressive outing in this season opener, as he was involved directly in three of the team's goals, including two in the power play. Hedman has notched at least 60 assists in two of the last three seasons, and he should remain one of the most productive blue-liners in the NHL as long as he remains healthy while consistently featuring in one of the top scoring units in the league.

Brayden Point - Scores power-play goal Point scored a power-play goal in Friday's 4-1 win over the Hurricanes.
Impact Point equalized Friday's game with a power-play goal in the second period following assists from Nikita Kucherov and Victor Hedman. Point has reached the 90-point plateau in each of the last two seasons, and while Kucherov will be the primary scoring weapon on the Lightning roster, the center should have plenty of opportunities for sustained production once again. He should feature regularly in the top line alongside Kucherov and Jake Guentzel.

Impact Guentzel inked a seven-year deal with the Lightning in the offseason after spending eight of his previous nine seasons with the Penguins, and while he was doubtful to feature in the season opener after missing practice earlier this week due to an undisclosed injury, he didn't have problems featuring in the top line alongside Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point while delivering an excellent performance. Guentzel should have plenty of opportunities to produce in the first line of one of the best offenses in the NHL, and he'll look for his first goal of the campaign against the Canucks on Tuesday.

Nikita Kucherov - Records hat-trick Friday Kucherov notched a hat-trick, including a power-play goal, and added a power-play assist in Friday's 4-1 win over the Hurricanes.
Impact Kucherov couldn't have wished for a better start to the season, as the star right winger was directly involved in the Lightning's four goals while recording a natural hat-trick in the third period across a nine-minute period that included two empty-netters. Kucherov had a career-best season in 2023-24 with 44 goals and 144 points across 81 regular-season appearances, and he's looking to best those numbers a step further in 2024-25.

Andrei Vasilevskiy - Gives up one goal Friday Vasilevskiy stopped 20 of 21 shots in Friday's 4-1 win over the Hurricanes.
Impact Vasilevskiy conceded the first goal of the game to Jordan Staal, but he was excellent the rest of the way as the Lightning cruised to a comfortable victory thanks to Nikita Kucherov's natural hat-trick. The 30-year-old netminder has reached the 30-win mark in seven seasons in a row, and while he had a down year in 2023-24 by some other metrics, he started the campaign with the right foot.
