Ilya Samsonov - Draws start Sunday Samsonov will be stationed between the pipes in Seattle on Sunday, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
Impact Samsonov will make his first appearance since Jan. 14 and just his second game of the month. The 26-year-old is 0-2-3 since his last victory Dec. 9; during that five-game losing streak, he's posted a brutal 5.32 GAA and .811 save percentage. Samsonov is 5-3-6 with an .863 save percentage this season.

Morgan Rielly - Great season continues Rielly delivered two assists Saturday in a 6-4 loss to the Canucks.
Impact Rielly is having the second-best season of his career. His 37 points put him in a tie with Rasmus Dahlin for seventh overall in the NHL, and they project to a 69-point campaign. His 118 shots are the fifth-most from defenders in the entire NHL. Rielly's best season ever came in 2018-19 when he put up 72 points. Given the Leafs' potent forward corps, Rielly should be a lock for elite output for fantasy managers.

Martin Jones - Struggles continue Jones made 15 saves Saturday in a 6-4 loss to Vancouver.
Impact He didn't get rattled in the first when the Orca's bottom six rang up three quick goals. And the game was tied 4-4 until the 7:11 mark of the third when Vancouver scored the first of two power-play goals that frame to seal the win. Jones hasn't had a great run lately, going 1-3-1 and giving up 20 goals in his last five starts. But the Leafs have struggled with poor team defense in that span against some elite teams, including Vancouver, Edmonton and Colorado. Jones will continue to be the starter in Toronto until Joseph Woll (ankle) returns. We hope the team gets their overall game back soon. As they go, Jones goes.

Mitchell Marner - Four-game, five-point streak Marner scored a goal and added an assist in a 6-4 loss to Vancouver on Saturday.
Impact Marner tied the game 4-4 early in the third period when he stole the puck at the Vancouver blue line while shorthanded and scored high blocker on a breakaway. It was his 20th goal of the season, and it extended his scoring streak to four games (three goals, two assists). Marner has hit the 20-goal mark six times in eight seasons. And his 50 points project to another 90-plus point campaign. It would be Marner's third consecutive and fourth of his career.

William Nylander - Top-five scorer in NHL Nylander scored twice Saturday in a 6-4 loss to Vancouver.
Impact They were beauty goals from distance. The first was a wrist shot from the top of the left circle off the rush that went over Thatcher Demko's glove and into the top corner of the net. The second was another wrist shot but from the right circle that deflected off a Canucks defender's stick. The goals came 3:26 apart and were part of a three-goal run in that span to tie the game 3-3 in the second. Nylander continues to lead the Leafs in scoring with 61 points, which also puts him in a three-way tie with Artemi Panarin and Elias Pettersson for fifth in the NHL.

John Tavares - Seven-game pointless skid Tavares was held off the score sheet Saturday in a 6-4 loss to Vancouver.
Impact He fired six shots, but had nothing to show for it. Tavares is stuck at 34 points (12 goals, 22 assists), and there is growing concern that his game has dropped off. He's gone seven games without a point, despite firing 21 shots. Tavares started the season so well, so this run is concerning. He's on track to fire 300 shots for the first time in his career, and his shooting percentage is a measly 7.5 (12.8 career). We would hope there would be some reversion to the mean and those shots would start to go in more often. But the eye test on Tavares' game is pretty blurry right now. Start prepping a back-up plan for your fantasy postseason, just in case.
