Impact Timmins is still considered day-to-day, but it seems that the Maple Leafs will go with the same lineup that defeated the Red Wings on Friday by a 3-2 score. Timmins has yet to play this season after suffering his injury in a preseason game versus Montreal on Sept. 29.

John Klingberg - Not playing Sunday Klingberg (undisclosed) has been ruled out of Sunday's tilt in Sweden versus Minnesota, David Alter of Sports Illustrated reports.
Impact It's beginning to look like Klingberg is headed to injured reserve and possibly long-term injured reserve as his undisclosed injury is not getting any better. The Swedish native practiced for 10 minutes Saturday and then left the ice. Klingberg has five assists in 14 games this season.

With the Maple Leafs down 2-0 early in the third period, the 28-year-old winger got the comeback started by tapping home a slick feed from William Nylander. In fact, the line of Nylander, Bertuzzi and John Tavares accounted for all three Toronto goals and eight points in total. Bertuzzi has produced back-to-back multi-point performances, and after a sluggish start to his tenure in blue and white he's got three goals and seven points in his last 11 games.

Impact Toronto was down 2-0 heading into the third period, but the line of Tavares, William Nylander and Tyler Bertuzzi combined for three goals and eight points in the final frame. There's no hotter player in the NHL than Nylander, but Tavares is off to a strong start to the season as well, delivering seven goals -- three of them game-winners -- and 19 points through 16 games.

Impact The Maple Leafs were down 2-0 heading into the third period, but Nylander and his linemates John Tavares and Tyler Bertuzzi each found the back of the net to fuel the comeback victory. Nylander's season-opening point streak keeps growing and stands at a franchise-record 16 games, but the 27-year-old has a long, long way to go to match Wayne Gretzky's NHL record of (not a typo) 51 games to kick off the 1983-84 campaign. Nylander is, however, just one game short of tying the best streak in the 21st century 17 games, set by Henrik Zetterberg in 2007-08 and matched by Connor McDavid in 2021-22.

Ilya Samsonov - Back in win column Samsonov stopped 27 shots in Friday's 3-2 win over the Red Wings.
Impact A Daniel Spring penalty shot and a Lucas Raymond wrister off the post less than two minutes apart in the second period accounted for all of Detroit's offense, and Samsonov was otherwise airtight in the crease. It's his second straight win after going nearly a month without a victory, and on the season the 26-year-old netminder is 4-1-2 with a 3.56 GAA and .878 save percentage over nine appearances. With Joseph Woll struggling lately (4.14 GAA and .862 save percentage since Halloween), the door is open for Samsonov to reclaim the No. 1 job with the Leafs if he can string together another good performance or two.
