William Nylander - Season-long scoring streak Nylander scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Capitals.
Impact Nylander took a stretch pass from Auston Matthews, blew around defender Nick Jensen and then roofed the puck past Darcy Kuemper. Nylander's season-long scoring streak stands at six games and 10 points (five goals, five assists). He bet on himself this season in terms of waiting on a new contract, and his price continues to rise. Leafs fans often complain about Willie, but Nylander is exactly the kind of character who thrives in the hockey hotbed called Toronto.

Auston Matthews - March to greatness continues Matthews scored a goal and added an assist in Toronto's 4-1 win over Washington on Tuesday.
Impact Matthews got his first assist of the season in the second period when he hit William Nylander with a great stretch pass in the second period, and the winger swung around the Caps' defender and roofed the puck. Then Matthews scored at 15:07 of the second on a one-timer top cheddar from the left circle on the power play. It was the 26-year-old's only shot of the game, and he played just 18:51 (19 shifts) after averaging over 23 minutes a game thus far. It's likely a rest game for the superstar who is quickly cementing his place as the greatest Leaf of all time (GLOAT). Matthews has 140 road goals, which ties him with Dave Keon for fourth in Leafs history. And his 79 power-play goals tie him with Wendel Clark for the fourth most PPG in club history.

Morgan Rielly - First goal of season Rielly scored a goal and added an assist in a 4-1 win over the Capitals.
Impact The goal was Rielly's first of the season. He gave the Leafs a 1-0 lead at 12:53 of the first with a power-play goal. The 29-year-old took a pass at the bottom of the right circle from Timothy Liljegren and beat Darcy Kuemper clean on the far side. Rielly then set up John Tavares' game-winning goal early in the second. So far this season, Rielly has one goal and four assists, including two power-play points, in six games.

Impact Woll was spectacular, further fuelling a goalie controversy in Leaf land. Woll stopped Alex Ovechkin 13 times, yielding just one power-play marker to the star near the end of the second. That was the only goal that got past him. Woll seems so unbothered by what's happening around him, and his calm, relaxed demeanor has new teammate Max Domi making Carey Price comparisons. That's heady praise. Woll needs to perform to earn more starts, but so far, so good.
