Matthew Knies - Inks entry-level deal Knies signed an entry-level deal with the Maple Leafs on Sunday,Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
Impact Knies wrapped up an impressive sophomore campaign at the University of Minnesota, tallying 21 goals and 42 points through 40 appearances. In his two collegiate seasons, he scored 36 goals and 75 points. The 20-year-old will likely join Toronto for its postseason run.

Wayne Simmonds - Assigned to AHL Simmonds was assigned to AHL Toronto on Sunday, per CapFriendly.
Impact Simmonds has two assists, 44 hits and 49 PIM in 18 games with the Maple Leafs this season. His demotion helped create some cap space to allow Toronto to sign top prospect Matthew Knies to an entry-level contract.

Calle Jarnkrok - Absent from practice Jarnkrok (undisclosed) didn't practice with the Maple Leafs on Sunday, per David Alter of Sports Illustrated.
Impact Jarnkrok missed Saturday's contest with an undisclosed injury and it appears he'll be questionable for Monday's matchup in Florida, as well. The 31-year-old winger has 19 goals and 37 points in 71 games in his first season with Toronto. Wayne Simmonds would likely remain in the lineup if Jarnkrok is unable to play.

Matt Murray - Still day-to-day Murray (head) is still day-to-day and won't travel with the Leafs for the start of the team's three-game road trip, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
Impact Head coach Sheldon Keefe said Sunday that Murray's status hasn't changed. It's unclear at this time who will be available to serve as Ilya Samsonov's backup. Toronto plays against Florida on Monday prior to visiting Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
