Connor Dewar - Still without timeline Dewar (shoulder) remains out indefinitely following offseason shoulder surgery, though he hasn't suffered any setbacks, Dave McCarthy of NHL.com reports Wednesday.
Impact Dewar seems on track to start the season on injured reserve, possibly even LTIR depending on his recovery. After being acquired from the Wild last year, the 25-year-old center played in 17 games for the Leafs in which he notched one goal, four assists and 29 hits while averaging 12:54 of ice time. Dewar's absence could open the door for Max Pacioretty to turn his PTO into a full contract during training camp.

Fraser Minten - Dealing with high-ankle sprain Minten is facing weeks on the sideline due to a high-ankle sprain, Joshua Kloke of The Athletic reports Wednesday.
Impact Minten was a long shot to make the Opening Night roster even prior to getting hurt but now almost certainly won't be with the team when it faces the Canadiens on Oct. 9. The 20-year-old winger racked up 48 points in 43 WHL contests with Kamploops and Saskatoon last year, the type of offensive display that saw him drafted 38th overall by Toronto in the 2022 NHL Draft. Look for Minten to start the season in the minors with the Marlies once given the all-clear.
