The 26-year-old defenseman has become a player to focus on for opposing teams, as the Utah defense is missing John Marino (back) and Sean Durzi (shoulder) on a long-term basis. Sergachev has produced five assists, 17 shots on net, four hits, 18 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating through nine appearances while playing on the top pairing and first power-play unit.

ImpactByfield helped out on the first of Joel Edmundson's two goals in the game. The helper snapped a three-game dry spell for Byfield, whose offense has not shown up much in a top-line role in recent outings. The 22-year-old forward has been limited to four assists, six hits, 20 shots on net and a minus-3 rating over nine contests this season. He produced 55 points in 80 regular-season games last year, but his slow start could make it difficult for him to match that production.

Logan Cooley - Finally gets first goal of seasonCooley scored a goal in a 3-2 loss to Los Angeles on Saturday.
ImpactIt was his first goal of the season. Cooley redirected Michael Kesselring's at the top of the crease and past Darcy Kuemper. He had three shots to bring him up to 17 in nine games this season. After a 20-goal and 44-point season last year, Cooley is finally finding his edges and has delivered seven points (one goal, six assists). He's firmly ensconced in the 2C role for Utah and is getting solid power-play time. Center may be deep, but Cooley is a solid play who could be 60-plus point player this season.
