Pierre-Luc Dubois - Carries offense in OT winDubois scored two goals in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Canucks.
ImpactThe 26-year-old center put together his first multi-goal performance of the season, opening the scoring late in the first period before wiring the winner past Kevin Lankinen inside the final minute of OT. Dubois has been the model of consistency since the beginning of December, getting onto the scoresheet in 14 of the last 17 games and collecting four goals and 17 points while adding 32 shots on net, 12 hits, 12 blocked shots, 12 PIM and a plus-10 rating.

Logan Thompson - Sharp in fifth straight winThompson stopped 30 shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Canucks.
ImpactHe was the busier of the two netminders, as Washington was out-shot 31-18, but a Connor Garland power-play tally late in the second period was all that stood between Thompson and his first shutout of the season. Thompson has won five straight starts and he has only one regulation loss since the beginning of December, going 7-1-1 with a 1.99 GAA and .929 save percentage over the latter stretch. The Caps have been reluctant to deviate from a strict timeshare in the crease, but Thompson is making a strong case to claim a larger share of the workload and relegate Charlie Lindgren to a backup role.

Kevin Lankinen - Gets little help in OT lossLankinen made 16 saves in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Capitals.
ImpactThe 29-year-old netminder shut down most of the Washington lineup, but Pierre-Luc Dubois got pucks past him late in the first period and in the final minute of OT, and the Vancouver offense wasn't able to get much going. Lankinen has appeared in five straight games, starting four of them, while Thatcher Demko has dealt with back spasms, but he's gone just 1-2-2 with a 2.59 GAA and .882 save percentage. Demko dressed as the backup Wednesday, and he could resume No. 1 duties as soon as Saturday's game in Carolina.
