Impact Thompson will get the second half of Washington's back-to-back after Charlie Lindgren plays Tuesday in Philadelphia. The 27-year-old Thompson has a 2-0-0 record this campaign, stopping 50 of 57 shots. As expected, Thompson and Lindgren have been sharing starts to begin the 2024-25 season.

Charlie Lindgren - Set to start Tuesday Lindgren is slated to start Tuesday's road game against Philadelphia, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports.
Impact The Capitals have a back-to-back against the Flyers on Tuesday and Wednesday, so Lindgren will get the road start Tuesday while Logan Thompson starts at home Wednesday. Trevor van Riemsdyk - Provides pair of assists Van Riemsdyk notched two assists, four shots on goal, four blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Devils.
Impact Van Riemsdyk helped out on goals by Andrew Mangiapane and Dylan Strome in the second period. These were van Riemsdyk's first points of the season to go with 10 shots on net, nine blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over four appearances. He's held down a spot on the third pairing early in the year while Matt Roy (lower body) hasn't played since the Capitals' season opener. Once Roy returns, van Riemsdyk will compete with Dylan McIlrath for playing time.

Andrew Mangiapane - Buries goal Saturday Mangiapane scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Devils.
Impact Mangiapane has two points, seven shots on net, two hits and a plus-2 rating over four contests. After a one-game look on the top line, he's been a regular on the third line, which is likely a better spot for him in the long run. The 28-year-old winger can provide some depth offense, shots on goal and hits, but he's a fringe option in standard fantasy formats.

Logan Thompson - Earns win in high-scoring affair Thompson stopped 26 of 31 shots in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Devils.
Impact This was far from Thompson's best performance, but at least he got the win to move to a 2-0-0 record. However, his 3.41 GAA and .877 save percentage are both subpar numbers compared to what he's posted over the previous two seasons in which he's made at least 35 starts, so it's safe to say the Capitals' offense has been saving him in the early stages of the season. The Capitals have rotated goalies in their first four games of the campaign, so it remains to be seen if he'll get the start for Tuesday's matchup against the Flyers in the first half of a back-to-back set against Philadelphia.

Jakob Chychrun - Provides two helpers Saturday Chychrun racked up two assists to go along with two penalty minutes , five shots, one hit and two blocked shots in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Devils.
Impact Chychrun set up Connor McMichael's goal in the second period and also provided a helper in the game-winning strike, courtesy of Tom Wilson just 60 seconds into overtime. These were Chychrun's first two assists of the campaign, and he's up to three points over his last three appearances. He should have plenty of opportunities to keep producing as a top-unit blue-liner both in even strength and in the power play.

Alex Ovechkin - Nets first goal of season Saturday Ovechkin scored a goal in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Devils.
Impact Ovechkin scored the Capitals' third goal midway through the first period, and the star winger finally found the back of the net for the first time in 2024-25 after tallying eight shots over his previous three appearances. Just one goal in 13 shots across four games isn't the normal standard for Ovechkin, though, and the veteran forward is likely to see an uptick in his numbers over the coming weeks following a relatively slow start to his age-39 season.

Connor McMichael - First multi-point game of season McMichael recorded a goal and an assist in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Devils.
Impact McMichael found the back of the net for the first time this season, but an area in which he's been standing out is the playmaking department, with three assists across his first four contests. McMichael recorded a career-high 33 points in 80 regular-season appearances for the Capitals in 2023-24. While the season is still in its early stages, he could be in line to surpass those numbers if he stays healthy, as he's featuring regularly in a top-six role.

Tom Wilson - Scores game-winning goal Saturday Wilson scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Devils.
Impact Wilson opened his tally in the early stages of the first period with a wrist shot from close range. The right winger also came through when the team needed him the most, as he notched the game-winning goal just 60 seconds into overtime following set-ups from Dylan Strome and Jakob Chychrun. Wilson has opened the season with goals in his first four appearances, becoming the fourth player in franchise history to reach that mark.

Dylan Strome - Extends point streak Saturday Strome notched one goal and two assists in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Devils.
Impact This was Strome's second multi-point game of the season and his first one with more than one helper, setting up an Alex Ovechkin goal in the first period as well as Tom Wilson's game-winner in overtime. Strome also found the back of the net midway through the second period, giving him goals in three of his four outings to date. The center, who has registered at least one point in every one of his appearances thus far, is enjoying a blistering start to the campaign with seven points in four appearances.
