Logan Thompson - Starting against Vegas Thompson will patrol the home crease Tuesday against the Golden Knights, Tarik El-Bashir of Monumental Sports Network reports.
Impact Thompson will make his Washington debut against his former team. The Capitals acquired the 27-year-old netminder from Vegas in June to share the crease with Charlie Lindgren. Thompson posted a 25-14-5 record with one shutout, a 2.70 GAA and a .908 save percentage across 46 regular-season appearances with Vegas in 2023-24.

Impact While Carbery's comment is about as clear as mud, fantasy players probably shouldn't be expecting Roy to play in at least the next 3-4 games due to his lower-body injury. With that being the case, the blueliner could be a candidate for a stint on injured reserve in order to free up a roster spot. Dylan McIlrath is expected to move into Roy's spot on the blue line alongside Martin Fehervary.

Impact Roy looks to be questionable, at best, to play in Tuesday's matchup with Vegas, though he hasn't been officially ruled out at this point. If the blueliner does miss any time, both Trevor van Riemsdyk figures to see the biggest uptick in ice time while Dylan McIlrath could make his 2024-25 season debut on the third pairing. Barring a long-term absence, the 29-year-old Roy should still be capable of putting together a third straight 25-point campaign this year.

Impact Wilson got the Capitals to within a goal in the third period before the Devils salted the win with an empty-netter. The burly winger has show good chemistry with Connor McMichael and Pierre-Luc Dubois on the second line and is well on his way for another well-rounded fantasy campaign.

Alex Ovechkin - Dishes helper Ovechkin tallied an assist and leveled seven hits during Saturday's 5-3 home loss to the Devils.
Impact Shockingly, Ovechkin failed to register a shot in Washington's home opener, but he still managed to find the scoresheet. The 39-year-old may need a little time to shake the rust off after playing sparingly during the preseason, but Ovechkin has plenty of motivation entering his 20th NHL season and sits just 42 goals shy of the all-time goal-scoring record currently held by Wayne Gretzky (894).

Pierre-Luc Dubois - Bags helper in debut Dubois tallied a power-play assist, two shots and a minus-1 rating during Saturday's 5-3 home loss to the Devils.
Impact Dubois notched his first point as a Capital on Washington's opening goal of the game. Traded twice in as many seasons, Dubois knows the pressure is on to show he can still be a difference-maker at the NHL level and the Capitals are bound to be pleased with the blend of speed and skill he showed in Saturday's loss. The 26-year-old could be worth an add for risk-tolerant fantasy managers.
