Matthew Phillips - Reclaimed off waivers Phillips was claimed off waivers from the Penguins by the Capitals on Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Impact The Capitals get Phillips back after losing him to the Penguins on waivers on Feb. 16. With five points in 30 games at the NHL level, the 25-year-old forward is likely headed for reassignment to AHL Hershey but Phillips could find his way back to the Capitals in the near future if they move players out in advance of Friday's trade deadline.

Martin Fehervary - Back at practice Fehervary (lower body) practiced in a non-contact jersey Tuesday, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports.

Impact Fehervary will presumably need to take contact in practice before rejoining the lineup, but he's clearly making progress in his recovery. The 24-year-old defender has collected 12 points, 112 hits and 71 blocks through 47 contests this season.

Impact Oshie skated for the first time since exiting a 5-3 loss to the Lightning on Feb. 22. The 37-year-old remains week-to-week and the Capitals may elect to be very cautious with his return should their playoff chances continue to dwindle.

Impact Dube played in three games while up with the Capitals this season in which he failed to register a point while averaging 9:20 of ice time. In the minors, the 23-year-old winger has been significantly more productive with 24 goals and 10 assists in 50 games for the Bears.

Impact The 29-year-old winger found the back of the net just 10 seconds into the third period, but the Capitals were already down 4-1 at that point. Mantha is up to 20 goals on the season, the first time he's reached that mark since 2018-19, and given that he'll be a free agent in the offseason, he could be one of the first players shipped out at the trade deadline if Washington gives up on its fading playoff hopes.

Charlie Lindgren - Downed by Coyotes Lindgren stopped 23 of 27 shots in Sunday's 5-2 loss to Arizona, with the Coyotes' final goal getting scored into an empty net.

Impact Two of the goals against Lindgren came on power plays as the Caps took a number of undisciplined penalties in a game they probably couldn't afford to lose. The 30-year-old netminder has lost three of his last four starts, going 1-2-1 while giving up 17 goals on 110 shots (.845 save percentage), and the door could be open for Darcy Kuemper -- who has allowed three goals or less in five straight outings since the All-Star break -- to take on a bigger workload.
