Albert Johansson - Path to playing time opensJohansson has played in four of the Red Wings' 10 games this season.
ImpactJohansson made the Opening Night roster after a decent camp, but that was with the Red Wings carrying eight blueliners. The team's trade sending Olli Maatta to Utah on Tuesday means Johansson is likely to see more consistent playing time moving forward, though he'll still have to fend off power-play specialist Erik Gustafsson for third-pairing minutes. While Johansson has yet to record a point over four outings, he has seven hits, five blocked shots, two shots on goal, two PIM and a minus-2 rating.

ImpactDeBrincat is warming up -- he has three goals and an assist over his last four outings. The winger is up to eight points (four on the power play), 21 shots on net and a minus-5 rating over 10 contests. A slow start from Dylan Larkin has potentially had a slight negative impact on DeBrincat early on, but both players should be reliable in top-line roles for most of the 2024-25 campaign.

Dylan Larkin - Scores on power playLarkin scored a power-play goal on two shots, added two PIM and went minus-3 in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Jets.
ImpactLarkin has three goals over his last six games, all of which have come on the power play. The 28-year-old center has had a sluggish start to the campaign with five tallies, one assist, 26 shots on net, six hits, 10 PIM and a minus-2 rating over 10 appearances. He's shooting 19.2 percent, but Larkin can provide just about as well as he finishes, so look for him to make gains in assists as the season progresses.

Dylan Coghlan - Awaiting team debutCoghlan has yet to play in the 2024-25 regular season.
ImpactCoghlan was traded to the Jets by the Hurricanes in July and signed a two-way deal with his new club a few days later, but he's still awaiting a chance to make a first impression. The 26-year-old has a total of 22 points over 106 career appearances. Coghlan will likely have to wait for an injury to occur to one of the Jets' right-handed blueliners before he gets a chance in the lineup.
