Suffers ACL injury, out for season Townsend will miss the rest of the season after suffering an ACL injury in Sunday's FA Cup match. Impact Townsend will undergo surgery next week and spend most of the summer rehabbing his knee. This isn't labeled as a torn ACL, but he's in a race to be fit for the start of next season, as that's about five months away. ACL injuries usually take six months at a minimum, depending on the type of surgery. It's a tough blow for Townsend, who finishes with three goals and two assists in 21 appearances (17 starts), all of those coming in the first seven matches of the season.
