Lionel Messi was included in the Argentina squad for two upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Brazil despite having struggled with a knee injury in recent weeks

Douglas Luiz - Picks up soft-tissue injury Luiz (strain) is doubtful for Friday's clash with Southampton after picking up a soft-tissue injury.

Impact Luiz is likely to be out for Friday's clash with Southampton, and missed Sunday's match with West Ham after picking up a muscular injury. It's not clear the severity and manager Dean Smith hasn't clarified, but with the international break after Friday's match it's likely Luiz is given the day off at least. Marvelous Nakamba could get the start if Luiz is unavailable Friday.

Danny Ings - Extremely doubtful for Southampton Ings (undisclosed) is extremely doubtful for Friday's clash with Southampton, according to HampshireLive.

Impact Ings is out with an injury that manager Dean Smith won't specify on. That said he said that he had one COVID-19 related absence, and Ings is the only player who he wouldn't talk about the status of. As the only player undisclosed it seems possible that Ings is in COVID-19 protocol, but with the international break coming up he is likely to have time to recover fully before a Nov. 20 clash with Brighton.

Ezri Konsa - Sent off against West Ham Konsa was sent off for a straight red card during the 50th minute of Sunday's clash with West Ham and is suspended for Friday's clash with Southampton.

Impact Konsa will serve his one-game suspension against Southampton, his first suspension since 2019. The center-back will likely be replaced by Axel Tuanzebe who deputized earlier in the year.
