Ademola Lookman - Fit for opener Lookman (hip) has been called up for Saturday's game versus Sampdoria.

Impact Lookman was limited by a muscular problem before transferring, but he has recuperated. He's unlikely to see major minutes from the get-go since he didn't participate in the friendlies, but the coach will look for ways to integrate him in the rotations. He has the skill-set to be a capable super-sub. He tallied six goals, 26 shots (12 on target), 23 chances and 18 crosses (two accurate) in 26 Premier League appearances with Leicester City last season.

Ederson - Suffers thigh strain Ederson picked up a low-grade biceps femoris strain in the left thigh in practice, Atalanta announced.

Impact Ederson will have to sit out two-to-three weeks due to the injury and therefore miss multiple matches. He has been tested mostly as a no.10 during the friendly. Mario Pasalic, Teun Koopmeiners and Ruslan Malinovskyi can also feature in such role.

Merih Demiral - Will miss Sampdoria game Demiral will sit out Saturday's opener against Sampdoria due to knee soreness, coach Gian Piero Gasperini told Ansa.

Impact Demiral was unable to play in the last friendly against Valencia and the problem will cost him time in league play as well. The coach praised returning loanee Caleb Okoli, who could fill in for Demiral, and also mentioned deploying Marten De Roon in the back. Giorgio Scalvini is also in the running for a starting job.

Ademola Lookman - Bound for Italian club Lookman (strain) will join Atalanta from RB Leipzig on a permanent deal, the club announced Thursday.

Impact Lookman joined Leipzig permanently in July of 2019 but has spent the last two seasons on loan with Fulham and Leicester City. In total, the forward managed just 22 Bundesliga contests in which he garnered five goals and four assists. With Atalanta, Lookman should be in the mix for regular appearances in the starting XI but is far from a lock to feature every week.

Jose Luis Palomino - Suspended for doping Palomino tested positive for a steroid at a surprise check-up and has been suspended by the League, Ansa reports.

Impact Palomino should be considered out indefinitely while he goes through the process, which will take considerable time considering the standard steps and appeals. It remains to be seen whether Atalanta will lean on their in-house options or will sign another center-back.
