Impact Depending on the severity of the injury, Williams could be set for multiple weeks on the sideline, though the team's release didn't provide any clear recovery timeline. At a minimum, the forward probably shouldn't be expected to play against Barcelona on Sunday.

Impact Alvarez was already expected to be on the shelf for a while after the team previously classified the injury as "moderate-severe". At this point, the defender should probably be expected to be out of action for 3-4 months after completing his surgery. Alvarez was making just his second start of the season when he was hurt and will now concede his spot in the starting XI back to Aitor Paredes.

Nico Williams - Leaves training with injury Williams picked up an injury while training with Spain's national team on Thursday, ahead of Athletic's match against Barcelona on Oct. 22.

Impact Williams was only involved in training for a few minutes before heading to the locker room with an apparent injury. The winger had initially gone down with an injury in his last stint with the international team, which left him out for three of Athletic's La Liga matches. However, numerous sources from the Spanish Federation have reported that the knock is minor and that he could play against Scotland on Friday but will only play if "he does not suffer pain." Based on Thursday's reports, Williams will most likely be available in a week for Athletic's first match back after the international break and could slot right into the starting XI when he returns.

Impact At a minimum, Alvarez is looking at weeks, if not months, on the sideline depending on the ultimate severity of his thigh problem. The defender should probably be considered out indefinitely and probably shouldn't be expected back until after the November international break. Once he gets back on the training pitch, the club should provide another update which will give fantasy players more guidance about when Alvarez might return to action.
