Pulled from group training Akinola has been removed from team training as the club discusses his future in Toronto, according to manager John Herdman, per John Molinaro of TFC Republic.
Impact Akinola appears as if he may have played his last minutes with the club, as he has been pulled from team trainging this week, with the club now in ongoing discussion about his future moving forward. The attacker has played a minimal role this seson, making all five of his appearances off the bench for a total of 82 minutes of play while going unused in four games after only four starts in 14 appearances last campaign, so this should come as no suprise. As of now, he shouldn't be expected to play or be on the team sheets in upcoming matches, likely being held out until a decison is made on if he will remain with the club or until he is with a new team.

Impact Akinola was given the chance for some minor minutes off the bench Sunday but didn't do much with them. It seems Prince-Osei Owusu will be the preferred attacking option ahead of Lorenzo Insigne. Akinola should still see some chances but a substantial role doesn't seem to the cards.

Impact Akinola is headed out West as part of the rebuild Toronto are undergoing. The forward will likely be a depth option behind Jeremy Ebobisse.
