Granit Xhaka - Completes Leverkusen move Xhaka has signed a five-year contract with Bayer Leverkusen after transferring from Arsenal, the club announced Thursday. Impact Xhaka had a turbulent seven-year spell with the Gunners as he infamously won and later lost the captaincy, but overall the midfielder tallied 23 goals and 29 assists in 297 appearances across all competitions for the club, winning two FA Cups (2017, 2020) and never starting fewer than 27 matches across a Premier League campaign. The 30-year-old is now returning to the Bundesliga with Leverkusen, having already spent four seasons with Borussia Monchengladbach from 2012-16. Xhaka should immediately plug into the starting XI at his new club as he competes against the likes of Robert Andrich, Exequiel Palacios and Kerem Demirbay in midfield.
