Schick (groin) was doing individual work in training with Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday.

Florian Wirtz - Subs on during friendly
Wirtz (knee) was a late addition to Saturday's friendly loss to Rangers.
Impact
Wirtz returns after missing over eight months with a torn ACL. One can only hope that he can recapture the form that made him one of the best youngsters in Germany and Europe, though he still has another month to recover his fitness until the Bundesliga season restarts in January.

Aranguiz (calf) aggravated his injury during the Winter training program, Leverkusen announced
Impact
Aranguiz has re-injured his calf and is now facing an uphill battle to return to the first team before the second half of the Bundesliga begins. Aranguiz missed the final seven matches of the season before the World Cup break with this calf injury and will be a heavy doubt to make his return for a Jan. 22 trip to Gladbach.

Exequiel Palacios - Backup option for Argentina
Palacios was an unused substitute in Wednesday's victory against Poland.

Piero Hincapie - Concedes penalty in loss
Hincapie logged three tackles (three won) and made four clearances during Tuesday's 2-1 defeat to Senegal.
Impact
Hincapie was busy defensively but will unfortunately be best-remembered in this one for a clumsy tackle within the area that resulted in a successful penalty kick. With the defeat, Ecuador is eliminated from World Cup play, and Hincapie will likely soon return to Leverkusen to rest and train for the second half of the Bundesliga season.

Azmoun played for the first half of Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the United States.

Odilon Kossounou - Back in training
Kossounou (strain) participated during Tuesday's training session.
Impact

Florian Wirtz - Active in training
Wirtz (knee) returned to training Monday, his club announced.

Azmoun won four duels, drew one foul, and had four shots (two on goal) and one chance created in Friday's 2-0 victory versus Wales.
Impact
Azmoun co-paced his team in shots, and his best attempt rattled the woodwork early in the second half in a one-on-one against the goalie. He also misfired with a header from close range early on. He has posted five attempts (three on target) and one chance in two World Cup appearances (one start). Iran will face the United States Tuesday.

Callum Hudson-Odoi - Inconsistent role
Hudson-Odoi has made 15 appearances (11 starts) in all competitions before the Winter break.
Impact
Hudson-Odoi joined Leverkusen from Chelsea and has seen consistent playing time, with one goal and one assist in all competitions. The surrounding cast certainly isn't as impressive as it was with Chelsea, but Hudson-Odoi should have a bigger individual role. Hudson-Odoi has largely competed with Adam Hlozek for a larger rotational role behind Patrick Schick. The return of Florian Wirtz after the World Cup could limit Hudson-Odoi's playing time in the second half.
