Andres Guardado - Retires from international team Guardado announced in a social media post Tuesday that he's retiring from the Mexican National Team. Impact Guardado retires with the most caps in Mexican men's history (181), and he's posted 28 goals and 31 assists since making his national team debut back in December 2005. The 36-year-old midfielder played in five World Cups and four CONCACAF Gold Cups from 2006-2022, winning the continental tournament on three occasions in 2011, 2015 and 2019. He's now focusing fully on his club career, where he's made at least 15 La Liga starts for Real Betis in each of his last six seasons in Spain.
