ImpactRonnow's first half of the season is over after it was revealed the his muscular injury was a serious issue in his hamstring. Lennar Grill will be in net for Union Berlin for the time being, though it's possible that is only for the two matches before the Winter break, which will give Ronnow two months to recover.

Lennart Grill - Blown away in lossGrill made three saves in Sunday's 5-0 loss against Bayer Leverkusen.

ImpactGrill made his second Bundesliga start and stopped just three of the eight shots he faced. It's hard to put this loss on Grill, who wasn't bad, but was left hung out to dry by a sloppy defense. Grill has a strong starting job behind a previously stingy Union Berlin defense, so it's possible this was the exception, not the rule, moving forward.

ImpactTrimmel had some opportunities down the right side of midfield, but failed to convert any of his chances. The winger still has a stable floor with his role on set-pieces, and has created more than a chance per game through 11 appearances. Trimmel has just two assists despite that, far from his nine assists he totaled in the 2021/22 campaign.

ImpactHradecky faced just one shot and stopped it to come away with his third Bundesliga clean sheet. The goalkeeper has been hampered by an awful Leverkusen defense, but the quality there should be a prime candidate for positive regression. Hradecky now has two clean sheets in his last two matches, his first multi-game clean sheet streak.

ImpactDemirbay assisted once, moving him to five goal contributions in just eight starts. The defensive midfielder has had an odd situation throughout, with limited playing time capping some of his upside, but generally strong performances. Demirbay isn't likely to go beyond 60 minutes in any appearance, but has been productive from defensive midfield, as well as holding onto a role on set-pieces.
