Leipzig Stages A Comeback To Defeat Stuttgart! | Leipzig - Stuttgart 5-1 | MD 2 – Bundesliga 2023/24
1 year ago
Alexander Nubel - Blown away in second halfNubel made six saves and allowed five goals in Friday's 5-1 loss versus RB Leipzig.
ImpactNubel went into half time in great form and with a clean sheet in hand. At the 75th minute he found himself down 5-1 with another goal ruled out for offside. Nubel isn't the first, or last, keeper that will get dismantled by an impressive Leipzig side. There are easier matches ahead for Nubel as he looks to shine on loan and keep Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.

Atakan Karazor - Earns rare assistKarazor assisted once to go with zero corners and one chance created in Friday's 5-1 loss against RB Leipzig.
ImpactKarazor assisted during Friday's loss, this is just the third Bundesliga assist of his career. It's unlikely Karazor will turn into a consistent creative force, but Stuttgart have already impressed in the opening two matches. Karazor seems set for a major role, and has already created three chances in two matches, giving him a chance to continue an offensive streak.

Sehrou Guirassy - Scores againGuirassy scored one goal to go with three shots (one on goal) in Friday's 5-1 defeat to RB Leipzig.
ImpactGuirassy netted for the third time in two matches to continue his red-hot start to 2023-24. The striker is on pace to absolutely blow past the 11 goals he totaled during his debut season with Stuttgart and has been unstoppable in front of net. The team around him might struggle but as long as Guirassy stays in Stuttgart he should get plenty of opportunities to spear head the attack.

Janis Blaswich - Denied clean sheetBlaswich recorded two saves and allowed one goal in Friday's 5-1 win over VfB Stuttgart.
ImpactBlaswich had another strong match but failed to earn his first Bundesliga clean sheet due to a first half goal. Still he was untouchable in the second half and well-earned all three points Friday. Peter Gulacsi (knee) could return after the international break and would figure to take over in the starting XI when available.

David Raum - Assists FridayRaum assisted once to go with 10 crosses (two accurate) and three corners in Friday's 5-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart.
ImpactRaum got on the scoresheet with his second assist in two matches. He nearly had another assist if not for a very tight offside call. All-in-all Raum has been brilliant to open the 2023-24 season and seems to finally be living up to the creative upside he showed with Hoffenheim. Raum has already matches his goal contribution total from 28 appearances in 2022-23 in just two matches.

Benjamin Henrichs - Nets circus goalHenrichs scored one goal to go with three shots (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Friday's 5-1 win versus VfB Stuttgart.
ImpactHenrichs scored a one-in-a-hundred goal, jumping up to block a clearance from Alexander Nubel and somehow deflecting the ball into the Stuttgart net. The wing-back isn't going to be a long-term contender for goals but it's still a nice early season boon for Henrichs, who has only scored six prior goals in top flight competition in his career.
