Iago Aspas - Decent outing in loss Aspas registered two shots (zero on goal), four crosses (two accurate) and four corners in Sunday's 1-0 defeat against Girona.

Impact Aspas was fairly productive in Sunday's loss but he failed to record a shot on target for his second consecutive match. Right before this down spell he scored goals in back-to-back games so it looked as if he had finally found his form, but unfortunately for him he has slowed right back down. Throughout the season, including Sunday, he has consistently recorded crosses, chances created and corners, but his sudden lack of end-product is severely hurting his upside.

Vicente Guaita - Concedes once in Sunday's loss Guaita had five saves and allowed one goal in Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Girona.

Impact Guaita conceded one goal Sunday which was enough for his side to lose the match. He had a solid performance as he made five saves for the fourth time this season, but he ultimately extended his five-match streak without a clean sheet. He faces a significantly easier matchup next Sunday at Osasuna, a side which has scored 25 goals in 20 league matches this season.

Franco Cervi - Gets green light for weekend Cervi (hamstring) will be an option for Sunday's match against Girona after receiving the green light from the medical staff.

Impact Cervi has recovered from a torn hamstring muscle and will be an option for the squad again after missing the last two matches. He had previously started three of the four games played, where he will see competition with Luca de la Torre for playing time in the midfield.

Impact Villar's two-match ban has finally come to an end, having been suspended without even being on the field after getting into a yelling match with the referee from the bench against Betis on Jan. 3. The goalie will most likely return to the bench with strict orders to keep his mouth shut, as Vicente Guaita has taken over the starting role between the sticks since Oct. 27.

This puts the keeper to about 2.9 saves per contest in 12 appearances for Celta this campaign.

Impact Starfelt came back from a hamstring injury and did it in style, going 90 minutes during Wednesday's win. The center-back was denied the clean sheet by a penalty, but still put together a solid return performance. Before the injury Starfelt was one of the most important pieces of the starting XI and now that he is fit once more he has a good chance to return to that role.

Luca De la Torre - Goal, assist in rout De la Torre scored and assisted during Wednesday's 3-1 win over Valencia in the Copa del Rey.

Impact De la Torre was simply astounding during Wednesday's win, putting his name on the scoresheet twice in a man of the match win. The midfielder has made 18 appearances in 2023/24 and is on pace for new career-highs across the board. de la Torre should continue to see major minutes in all competitions heading into the back half of the season.

Miguel Rodriguez - Rare start in Copa del Rey Rodriguez got the start and played 87 minutes during Wednesday's 3-1 win over Valencia.

Impact Rodriguez's chances have mostly come in the cup competitions this year. He's made nine La Liga appearances, but all of them have come off the bench. That said he has seen more minutes of late, including going 45 minutes against Mallorca last time out. If Rodriguez can continue to turn in good showings like these last two he could compete for a starting role in the second half of the league season.

Fran Beltran - Busy in cup rout Beltran shot once and played 78 minutes during Wednesday's 3-1 win over Valencia in the Copa del Rey.

Impact Beltran has been one of the first names on the team sheet this season and he's been a consistent producer in all competitions. The defensive midfielder's only downside has been that he has struggled going forward, with no goal contributions through 17 appearances (13 starts.) Still if Beltran can stay fit he should have the chance to rectify that in the back half of the season.

Vicente Guaita - Gives up one goal in draw Guaita recorded five saves and allowed one goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Mallorca.

Impact Guaita could've done more on the sequence that led to Mallorca's lone goal, as Cyle Larin tapped the ball home from very close range, but Guaita has enough time to, at least, react and push the ball aside. Guaita has three clean sheets over his last seven outings, a span in which he's also allowed one or fewer goals six times.

Oscar Mingueza - Sends five crosses Saturday Mingueza had five crosses (two accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Mallorca.

Impact Mingueza was a constant attacking threat for Celta, though his crosses rarely found a teammate. Mingueza can also contribute with defensive stats, but that wasn't really the case in this game.

Larsen has been Celta's top scorer this season, bagging seven goals and adding one assist while starting in every match thus far.

Aspas has three goals and four assists in league play this season, but two of those goals have come in his last two matches.

Carlos Dominguez - Makes squad to face Mallorca Dominguez (undisclosed) is in the squad to face Real Mallorca on Saturday.

Impact Dominguez didn't play in the 4-2 win over Amorebieta in the Copa del Rey earlier this month, but it seems he is fit enough to return to competitive action. Even if available, Dominguez hasn't been much of a fantasy asset. He's logged just six appearances this season, though five of them have come as starts, and he earns most of his fantasy value via defensive stats such as clearances and tackles.

Ivan Villar - Signs new deal with Celta Villar has signed a new contract with Celta Vigo and has extended his tenure with the club until the end of the 2026/27 season, Clemente Garrido of Diario AS reports.

Impact Villar has been relegated to a backup role over the last few months, and while he's not expected to recover the starting position any time soon, Celta rates him enough to extend his current deal for the foreseeable future. Villar is suspended to play against Mallorca on Saturday but will be eligible to face Real Sociedad on Jan. 20.
