Ivan Villar will likely get the start in goal against Alaves on Friday in his absence.

Impact Moriba wasn't expected to see much of a role this season for Leipzig, so instead he will be sent on loan for a fourth straight season. He didn't appear once for Leipzig last campaign, as he spent the season on loan with Getafe, starting in eight of his 14 appearances while notching two assists on five chances created. He will spend the whole season on loan, hoping to see decent time after serving in a rotational role for much of the past three seasons.

Joseph Aidoo - Plays in pre-season friendly Aidoo (Achilles) played off the bench in Celta's 1-0 win over Gil Vicente in a pre-season friendly on July 26.

Impact The central defender underwent Achilles surgery in late October and missed the rest of the campaign, but he was able to log some minutes in this pre-season friendly, setting up the stage for him to be an option on defense by the time the campaign starts on Aug. 16 against Alaves. Aidoo was limited to just six appearances (four starts) in 2023/24.

Vicente Guaita - Picks up injury Guaita has been limited to individual training due to an injury in his right shoulder, according to the club.

Impact Guaita is expected to be a regular starter for the club in net this season, so this injury will be something to monitor in the future. How severe the issue is is unknown and when he is expected to return is also up in the air. However, with a little over two weeks to recover until their season opener, there is a solid chance he is fit to begin the season.

Borja Iglesias - Transfers to Celta Vigo Iglesias has completed a transfer to Celta Vigo from Real Betis, according to his former club.

Impact Iglesias's run with Betis has reached its end after three seasons, with the forward leaving to join fellow Spanish club Celta Vigo. During his time with the club, he appeared in 181 matches, notching 52 goals and 12 assists, with one of those goals leading the club to a Copa del Rey title in 2022. He is likely to see a rotational role while with Celta, starting games here and there but mainly serving off the bench.
